6:00 AM: Namche Bazaar Early Wake Up
Begin your day early in Namche Bazaar, one of the liveliest Sherpa towns in the area and the entrance to Everest. The fresh mountain air, prayer flags fluttering in the breeze, and the sight of snow-capped peaks peeking above rooftops set the perfect mood for today adventure. Enjoy a hot breakfast at your lodge before the flight, or ask for a packed meal if rather eat something light and quick. Because you will be flying to higher altitudes, it is crucial to drink plenty of water and wear layers of warm clothing.
6:30 AM: Proceed to Namche Helipad
You will be transfer to Helipad, in the Morning you will see Yaks and porters are already going about their daily business as you make your way through Namche’s charming alleys.
You will meet your pilot and receive a brief but crucial safety briefing when you arrive at the helipad. Before takeoff, our team will make sure that you are at ease and informed.
6:45 AM – Helicopter Takeoff from Namche
As the helicopter lifts off, prepare for an immediate rush of adrenaline and awe. The Himalayan giants quickly come into full view. From the air, Namche shrinks beneath you, and the mountains rise dramatically around you.As you fly above the Dudh Koshi River Valley, glacial lakes, rocky cliffs, and historic moraines, have your camera ready. Amazing aerial views of Ama Dablam, Thamserku, Nuptse, Lhotse, Pumori, and lastly, the majestic Mount Everest itself, may be seen along the flight path.
7:00 AM – Fly Over Everest Base Camp
Fly over the renowned Everest Base Camp, where climbers train for their spring and fall summit aspirations. The Khumbu Icefall rocky ice landscape, vibrant expedition tents, and fluttering prayer flags are all visible from above. It is a striking and sobering sight. This flyover offers you the opportunity to see Base Camp from the best vantage point without having to endure the weeks long trek, even though we would not land there directly due to glacier conditions.
7:10 AM – Landing at Kalapatthar (5,545 m / 18,192 ft)
Shortly after flying over Everest Base Camp, your helicopter makes a brief and safe landing at Kalapatthar, one of the most famous viewpoints in the Everest region. Step out onto this quiet, snow-covered granite ridge. With the summit of Mount Everest only a few kilometers away, this location offers the closest and clearest view of the mountain. Along with a broad overview of the entire Khumbu Valley, you will also be able to see nearby peaks such as Lhotse, Nuptse, and Changtse. Take about 10–15 minutes to soak in the moment, snap incredible photos, and just marveling at the beauty of mountain nature.
Note: Due to the high altitude and thin air, we limit ground time at Kalapatthar to ensure passenger safety.
07:30 AM: Return Flight to Namche or Lukla
Once back on board, the helicopter lifts off again for the return journey. Depending on your itinerary, you can choose to return either to Namche Bazaar to continue trekking or directly to Lukla for a flight back to Kathmandu.
Whichever option you choose, the return flight offers one final chance to view the incredible mountain ranges. You will touch down at either the Namche or Lukla helipad, where we will be waiting to assist with your next steps.
