Weight Restrictions
Helicopter flights at high elevations must follow strict weight guidelines for safety and efficiency. The maximum weight limit for the Hotel Everest View to Lukla route is 450 kilograms, which includes all passengers and their luggage. Before boarding, both individuals and baggage are weighed to ensure safe load distribution. We recommend packing thoughtfully and contacting our team if you expect your gear to be heavier than average. Adhering to these limits helps maintain flight stability and passenger safety.
Weather Conditions
While helicopters are generally more adaptable in the Himalayas than fixed wing planes, all flights still depend on clear and safe weather. Our dispatch team monitors real time forecasts and stays in close contact with our pilots to assess changing conditions. In cases of fog, strong wind, or low visibility, your flight may be postponed, rescheduled, or occasionally canceled. Your safety is our number one priority, and we appreciate your flexibility in the event of any necessary adjustments.
Required Trekking Permits
You do not need any special documentation for the helicopter ride itself, but you must carry the standard trekking permits required to travel in the Everest region:
- Sagarmatha National Park Entry Permit
- Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality Permit
These permits are usually arranged at the beginning of your trek. Please ensure they are with you, as they might be requested during your stay or at checkpoints.
Location and Communication
To help us serve you better, please share your lodge name at Hotel Everest View (Syangboche) when booking the flight. This allows our operations team to coordinate landing logistics and update you with your final boarding time. Due to ever-changing weather in the region, staying connected via phone or WhatsApp is essential for smooth coordination.
